The Pencil Makers Association is the group within WIMA that represents the interests of the cased and mechanical pencil industry. Its members include all of the major players in the pencil industry in the US, Canada and Mexico. The Pencil Makers Association sponsors the industry renowned PMA Certification Program for pencils. The PMA Seal represents that pencils have been reviewed by a Board-certified toxicologist and labeled properly in accordance with the Federal Hazardous Substance Act and the 1988 LHAMA amendment to that Act.
